If there is one thing you notice there are the plethora of Doors in  Morocco!
They come in all shapes and sizes and if you are privy to the the insights to the history of some doors, they can tell you allot about the occupants who reside behind the door, how many traders they will trade with and where they sit financially in the Moroccan society.
You will also find varied door knockers on many of the doors, they are generally a ornate brass knocker and are placed on the doors as a divine protection of the home.
They will often be in the shape of the Hand of Fatima and it commemorates the prophets daughter Fatima Zahra and is believed to ward off the evil eye.
You may also see a larger knocker which is located high on the door and this is used by the camel traders that would visit the Medinas to trade. It was placed high on the door so the camel traders did not have to dismount from their camel to do trade with the home owners.
The knocker would also give off a different sound indicating to the owners of the home that there was a trader at the door and not a neighbour as they would use  another knocker that was placed in a lower position and was smaller in size and consequently sounds different.
As you can well imagine the doors of the palaces are the most ornate and have a feeling of granduer and the importance of whom resides behind the magnificent doors.
